How does digital billboard advertising work?
Your advert is shown on a large LED screen mounted on one of our vans, at selected locations and scheduled times.
Adverts share the screen in rotation. On a Rush Hour campaign, for example, your 15-second advert appears in rotation Monday to Friday within the 7am to 9am and 4pm to 6pm windows, approximately 50 times a day. Our screens measure up to approximately 11 square metres, and specifications vary between vehicles.
How Rush Hour Advertising works
What is the difference between a mobile billboard and a traditional billboard?
A traditional billboard stays in one place and shows a printed poster. A mobile digital billboard is an LED screen on a vehicle, so it can go to selected locations and the advert can be changed quickly.
Because the advert is digital, there is nothing to print or paste up when your message changes, and several adverts can share the screen in rotation.

How quickly can my advertisement be changed?
We can update your advert within 24 hours.
Artwork changes are part of the service, so your advert can keep up with new offers, dates and events.
Do I need to supply my own artwork?
No. Free professional advert design is included with every advertising booking.
If you already have artwork, send it over and we will check it suits the screen. Nothing goes on screen until you have approved it.

Is mobile digital billboard advertising effective?
It can be a strong way to get a local business seen, but results depend on your message, locations and timing, and no form of advertising can guarantee results.
A large, bright screen puts your advert where people are already travelling, it cannot be scrolled past like an online advert, and it can be updated quickly. We plan locations with you and send you photographs of your advert running.

How does digital billboard advertising compare with social media advertising?
They work differently. Social media adverts appear on a phone and can be scrolled past in seconds, while a digital billboard is seen out in the real world, in the places your customers travel.
Many businesses use both. A billboard campaign can build local awareness, and our photographs of your advert on the screen can be shared on your own social media.
